About Me:
Cars have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, that meant racing Hot Wheels and spending hours washing and detailing my dad’s Corvette. I didn’t know it then, but that early obsession with cars, and with getting every detail just right ,would eventually become Por4mance Motors & Detail Garage.
At 18, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served for four years before attending Clemson University. After graduating, I began what would become a career of more than two decades as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service.
That career took me around the world and included multiple assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan, leadership positions in high-threat environments, and years spent working alongside some of the finest people I have ever known. The lessons I learned about leadership, preparation, integrity, accountability, and attention to detail continue to shape how I run Por4mance today.
After retiring from federal service in 2023, I finally had the opportunity to turn a lifelong passion into a second career.
My obsession with Porsche really began in 2011 when I purchased my first 911, a 996 Carrera 4. What started as maintaining and detailing my own cars grew into helping friends, fellow enthusiasts, and eventually clients with theirs. I discovered that I enjoyed preparing, restoring, presenting, and even selling great cars almost as much as I enjoyed driving them.
In December 2023, I opened Por4mance Motors & Detail Garage at Autometrics Motorsports in Summerville, South Carolina. What started primarily as a high-end detailing operation has grown into something much broader.
Today, Por4mance works with owners of Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Corvette, and other enthusiast and collector vehicles. Our services include professional detailing and paint correction, ceramic coatings, vehicle preparation and presentation, professional photography and video, climate-controlled storage, and complete sales representation.
Por4mance is also proud to be an official Bring a Trailer Local Partner serving Charleston and Dorchester Counties, helping owners professionally prepare, photograph, present, and manage their vehicles through the Bring a Trailer auction process.
One of the things I enjoy most is representing a great car properly. Selling a collector or enthusiast vehicle isn't simply about taking a few pictures and placing an advertisement. It's about understanding the car, documenting it honestly, presenting it at its best, anticipating buyer questions, and protecting the owner's interests throughout the process. That same philosophy applies to detailing. Whether I'm preparing a Porsche for Bring a Trailer, correcting the paint on a longtime owner's pride and joy, ceramic coating a new vehicle, or getting underneath a collector car to make sure every detail is ready for photography, I approach it the same way: do it correctly, pay attention to the details, and treat the car as though it were my own.
Although Porsche will probably always be my first automotive love, I'm an enthusiast of just about anything special on four wheels. From vintage American cars and European classics to modern Ferraris and today's hypercars, I appreciate the engineering, history, design, and personalities that make great automobiles more than transportation.
Beyond the Garage
I'm married to my wife, Catrina, and we're the parents of four boys. Family is a huge part of my life and one of the reasons I decided to build something of my own after retiring from government service.
When I'm not at the shop, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, heading to Disney World or the beach, following motorsports and college football, or training—whether that's lifting weights, running, or mountain biking.
Por4mance is still a small business by design. I want clients to know who is working on their car and who is representing them when it's time to sell. As the business has grown, I've built relationships with trusted specialists in mechanical service, paint and bodywork, paint protection film, transportation, and other areas so that we can provide clients with a complete solution while maintaining the personal attention that built the company.
At the end of the day, Por4mance exists because I genuinely love cars and the people who share that passion.
